Trust God; Try Psalm 62 on for size

Psalms is indeed my favorite book in the Bible. Being one who writes down prayers, it is easy for me to connect with the organization and beauty in which these prayers were organized. Psalms 62 is the epitome of encouragement. In my New International Version  Bible, the third stanza reads:

Yes, my soul, finds rest in God

My hope comes from him.

Truly he is my rock and my salvation;

He is my fortress, I will not be shaken.

My salvation and my honor depend on God;

My life has been pretty turbulent since last summer and this stanza is my saving grace. I trust God with everything that I have because I know that I am nothing without Him. He is my rock, my salvation, my hope, and my honor. Long story short, He is EVERYTHING. No matter what happens, as long as I am in His will, I can make it and I WILL make it.

David goes on to encourage others not to put their hope in anything that is not God. Even in our success we have to make sure that we are not being uplifted and feeling secure. What we have can be gone in the blink of an eye. You know the old saying, “God giveth, and He taketh away”. This is so true. The last stanza reads:

One thing God has spoken;

Two things I have heard;

“Power belongs to you, God,

And with you, Lord, is unfailing

Love;

And, “you reward everyone

according to what they have done

How awesome is this passage! There is so much Power in God’s name, words, and actions, it gives me joy to just think about it. There is purpose in everything, even the bad and His love is strong enough to cover every little thing we are going through. In essence, I have absolutely nothing to complain about. God’s grace and mercy is brand new every day and I have faith that there is reward in doing His work.
