A letter to 14 year-old self.
It’s in your eyes. It’s in your smile. It’s in the way you walk and the way you talk. A force nature with a gentle demeanor. This letter is for you. Do not let anyone make you feel as if you are anything short of greatness. Your mind is a wheel constantly in motion and sometimes with no direction. You have to find your way and you will.
You will have your heart broken too many times to count. Not always from a bad relationships but also from parents, friends, and family. I wish I could say it gets easier, but you will never stop learning to speed up the healing process. People will use you, take you for granted, and slander your name. You know who you are, and people will always have a perception that is unworthy of even reaching your ears.
You will succeed. Through the accomplishments it seems like life is staggering and not giving you what you put into it. Remember Romans 8:28. It’s not our timing but His. Every day you wake up you have to pray that this day is better than the last. Trouble does not last always. You will be where you are supposed to be, when you are supposed to be there.
You will fall. Hard. You will make the dumbest mistakes known to man it will test your faith. Peer pressure will make you do things you know are not in your character. Thank God for keeping you safe. Every day is a gift with brand new grace and mercies. You can look back even on the last 12 months and that much will be proven. You have a spirit that lives on the inside of you that makes everything alright.
You are a woman, and you will make an impact on the world. You are at peace with not having it all together but not satisfied in staying in that place. You will continue to strive and fight as well as evolve. Your body is changing, your hair is changing, and you are ALWAYS changing.
Let music continue to be your guide. Read the Bible. Continue to laugh, continue to write and continue to build.
You will make it. You are great. Always forward. Never backward.
